I spoke to Dad this morning, he sounds GOOD! He's back to himself.
He walked 325 feet this morning. He said he was trying to race the other
patients. He is anxious to go home. They said he will be released tomorrow.
He will be the second person to be released this soon. They said he is
healing extremely fast. He still can not hear out of his left ear. He seems
to be in good spirits.

Update- Saturday Night

I spoke to Dad just before bed. I think it's all catching up with my parents. Dad and Mom have been sleeping most of the day. His back is starting to bother him. But he said his heart feels good. They were both ready for bed at 9:00. They have a roll away bed in the room for my mom.

UPDATE- Saturday 11th, 2009

We are home now. I spoke to Dad this morning, he is doing better than the doctors expected. His progress is a day ahead. His hearing is still gone. His heart sound good, it skips a beat now and again but that is to be expected. This is a picture of his incision. This picture was taken on Friday. Three days later look how much better it looks. I have a picture of it when right after the operation posted on "Our big scare."

Update- Friday April 10th.

They moved Dad From ICU to the second floor. His room number is 227. So if you would like to talk to him you can call the hospital. He is doing well. He has lost the hearing out of his left ear. The doctor said he thinks his hearing will come back. They think he may have a blood clot in the ear, it's not a clot that can get in the blood stream. The ICU waiting room was full of Family and Friends. Dad said he has only used 7 out of 9 lives. He may have to use the last 7 to get the family together more often.

My Dad has a charming side. He is a really fun person to be around. My kids call him goofy gramps. He's been giving the nurses a hard time. They love it. They all walk out with a big smile on their face. He asked them if the hospital gives them happy pills. Dad doesn't realize he's the happy pill.

Update- Thursday April 9th.

One day into recovery. He is off the ventilator. They are giving him 50% oxygen. His saturation is 97. They have dad sitting up. This was extremely painful. Today's technology is absolutely amazing.
