Our September trip to Lake Powell

We all made it back alive, thats what matters.
and we actually had fun.
We had a huge storm blow in, and it created
a lot of chaos. Let me tell you about our trip.
First off- Ryan and Deana (friends of ours) had
a blow out on thier way to Powell. I know that
dont seem like a big deal but when you add up
all the other things that happened, you start
feeling pretty lucky something serious didnt happen.
They had some friends meet them thier. Thier
friends tried finding camp in the dark and ended
up driving thier boat on land.
Ryan and Deana tried pulling thier boat off of
land, pulling it with thier boat. They was able
to pull thier friends off shore but it also sucked
them into shore, ruining thier prop.
This all happened before we got thier.
To start out our trip, Mike had ripped a muscle
in his back, so he was on pain pills and it only took
off the edge at best.
The wind was blowing most of the trip, it blew
so long it started making me feel a little nutts.
Luckily dad brought his Pensky. That ended up
being our Dining Room. It kept the sand out of our
food. We even cooked in thier.
We was enjoying our dinner in our new Dining Room
when Hunter Boy fell off the back of the Pensky.
He fell head fist on solid Rock. Scared us to death!
The next day we all went fishing. Jed went with
our friends. The storm hit hard and fast and Jed
was still with them. We was panicking, the waves
were big. They even had a couple get killed really
close to wear we were.
While we sat thier worrying the wind grabbed
our awning, ripping it off the Motorhome and
throwing it up over and out 60 feet behind us.
The lantern was attached to the awning.
When the Puffers finally made it back to camp. I guess
Ryan had been plowing through 5 to 6 foot waves with a
great big fish attached to a hook, and the hook
was in his thumb. Jed had to get the hook
out of Ryans thumb with the fish flipping around
while Ryan was driving.
Deana was below deck preparing
the little ones how to float in thier back with the life jackets
if they were to sink. So hows that vacation sound?
Heres some pictures of the accidents.
The good stuff is in the slideshow.

Jed's first deer hunt.

Mike made Jeds first Hunting experience
really fun. He took our Motorhome up
the canyon and left it thier until Jed got
his deer. They did the boy thing and
bought canned soup and roughed it,
they heated up thier soup in the camp
fire and ate it right out of the can.
That's not the way a girl would do it.
Jed bought Tyson's bow. His first year and
he shoots a good sized 2 point,
thats not easy to do with an arrow.
We had the deer jerkied. The entire
deer was gone in 3 months.
