The Scorpion Queen

This was suppose to be a short four day trip. Mike's intentions were to pack light and boat in. With three girls going, our Tahoe was loaded to the max. We had so much stuff we could not boat in. We ended up camping at our favorite place (stanton creek)
This is our first time tenting it and it will be our last! Let me explain...

Mike and the kids gathered some dried tumble weeds and started a huge fire, I started feeling nervous because it is illegal. So I decided to go into the tent to make beds, Jed was already asleep in their. I tried zipping up the tent, It was stuck. I called Mike over and asked him to zip it up. The zipper was broke. He said not to worry about it. I told him bugs would get in, and he made the comment...I havent seen any bugs out.
Well, thats when the fun began. I was spreading out Nicoles sleeping bag for her when all in a sudden I felt something go through the top of my foot. It reminded me of a electrical cord, I felt a jolt of electricity. I was trying to yell for Mike but I was so scared and in shock that I could not yell. Finally Nicole heard me I told her to have dad bring some light over that I thought I had just been bit by a bat. At that time I did not dare move. Mike came in and told me I probably got poked by a weed. He thought I was making up stories because I was not to happy with him for not fixing the tent. Jed and I sat in the Tahoe, I was in so much pain I honestly did not know how much more I could handle. Mike, Chandlier, Shay and Nicole was going through the tent. Mike lifted up a blanket and a scorpion went running. Chandlier kept searching and found another. I panicked, and insisted on a hospital. They charged us $500.00 for a shot to knock me out and I have to admit it was worth every penny. We left early, The shot kicked my butt and I could not come out of it. We threw the tent in the trash on the way out. I ended up with a numb foot for nearly 3 months. Have you ever took a black light to Bullfrog? Try it, you will get the heebie-creebies. We killed 100 scorpions near our camp in 1 hour. They even hang off the bushes. My nick name is the Scorpion Queen.
